The web version of the book 'More than Bricks and Mortar' was the result of the hard work of several members, including Arifin Graham, a well known graphic designer and book producer, Ronald Jones, the webmaster of the ISC Media Services website, the former ISC Chairman, Pak Muninjaya, and his wife Ibu Indrawati, and Lester Sutherland, former coordinator of ISC Media Services.
To all those members, sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation.
Grateful thanks also to Jeffrey Polk of Subud Portland, U.S.A., whose financial contribution greatly helped in bringing about this web version of the book.
A shorter version of this book is in print and can be obtained from Pak Muninjaya. Please send an international money order for US$15 (price includes the cost of mailing the book to you by air) to:

For readers whose groups do not yet own their own Subud House, some of these histories contain useful ideas on how to go about finding the money with which to buy or build a Subud House. A few of the histories also contain cautionary suggestions on what not to do in the process of acquiring a property.
Since having a permanent place for groups to do latihan is probably a basic material requirement for Subud to grow, the publishers are very hopeful that this book might inspire and assist groups that do not own their own House to start planning to build or purchase one.
Finally, just a note about the title of this book, it was chosen to reflect the belief that a Subud House is more than a material acquisition - it is a place that nurtures and develops the spiritual and social life of the group that owns it.
Navigating through the histories
The histories in this book are organised by zones, as follows: Zone 1/2, Zone 3, Zone 4, Zone 5/6, Zone 7, Zone 8 and Zone 9. The reader may select a zone by clicking with the left mouse button on the desired location in the world map to the left of the top panel. The zone corresponding to this location, along with a listing of the countires in that zone, will then appear in the middle of the top panel. The reader may then select a history for a group within this zone using the menu on the right of the top panel. After browsing through histories, selecting 'FORWARD' in this menu will return the user to this forward. Most histories contain a photo or two of the Subud house. Where available, an enlarged version of the photo can be obtained by left clicking on the photo.
